Quantum technologies are among the emerging technologies with the potential to transform the capabilities, requirements, and delivery models of information technology (IT) services. Four major areas—quantum communications and cryptography, post-quantum cryptography, quantum computing, and quantum sensing—present new opportunities and challenges for the development and advancement of digital services. From electronic banking, cloud computing, and digital healthcare to artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain, e-commerce, the Internet of Things (IoT), and smart cities, these technologies can have a significant impact on information security, computational power, process optimization, and the technical requirements of digital services.
This webinar introduces quantum technologies and examines their current capabilities and limitations, while exploring the actual and potential impacts of these technologies on IT services. At a broader level, it addresses the question of whether the impact of quantum technologies should primarily be analyzed within the framework of digital ecosystem transformation and the enhancement of IT services, or whether the advancement of these technologies will gradually pave the way for a new quantum ecosystem that interacts with the existing digital ecosystem and gives rise to new structures, infrastructures, and services.
Furthermore, considering the opportunities and threats arising from the development of quantum technologies, the webinar explores the strategies, policies, and measures that should be adopted at the national and organizational levels, as well as by IT service providers. The aim is to ensure preparedness for emerging challenges while harnessing the potential of these technologies to develop and enhance digital services.
The webinar aims to provide an application-oriented and forward-looking perspective on the implications of quantum technologies for IT services and to outline the requirements for effective preparedness and response to the transformations ahead.
