Quantum biology is an interdisciplinary field at the intersection of biology, chemistry, and physics that investigates the role of quantum laws and phenomena in biological processes at the molecular level. This course introduces the fundamentals of biological systems and key quantum concepts, and explores processes such as photosynthesis, enzyme function, magnetic orientation in birds, and genetic mutations. Advances in this field may contribute to the development of biological and quantum sensors, more accurate disease detection, targeted drug design, and advanced medical imaging. By covering topics from fundamental concepts to more advanced subjects, this course provides an opportunity to gain an understanding of quantum biology and explore future research, academic, and industrial pathways in the field.

In this course, the history and types of classical cryptography, the required mathematical concepts, and algorithms such as RSA, ElGamal, elliptic curve-based cryptography, and various hash functions will be introduced. Finally, a brief overview of the challenges facing classical cryptography in the era of quantum technologies will be provided.
